I've spent about 20 years in web and IT — building, shipping and keeping things running. I've tried every tool there was. And still, the more real work I put through AI, the more overhead showed up: conversations scroll away, nothing stays organised per project, and the day turns into moving between Claude, Codex, Gemini and a code editor.

In the end, I had to build it myself. Nothing in here is a feature that just looked good on a list. Every one of them is something I was missing on a working day — threads, child threads, switching engines mid-conversation, knowledge, code, sharing, AI teams, running several jobs at once. I still fix something in it most weeks.

I opened my first thread on 26 June 2026. Sixty-three days later I'm at 216 threads — about 3.4 a day. The copy on this page was written inside WorkPilot too.

Pick the engine per thread — Claude, ChatGPT, Kimi, Antigravity — and the model inside it. Switch mid-conversation and the context comes with you.

Then go further: write one instruction, and WorkPilot breaks it into steps and runs each one on the engine you named — in the order you wrote it, handing each result to the next step.

ChatGPT can't call Claude. Claude can't call GPT. That's the point.

Six modes — chat, image, video, article, audio, code — and each one runs to the end, not to the draft.

Video runs on Higgsfield over MCP. Audio uses ElevenLabs. ffmpeg ships inside the app.

Anything that leaves your machine stops for your approval first. Everything else just runs.

Split from any message

Hover a message, press branch, and a child thread opens — already knowing everything that was said up to that point. Or split off whatever you were half-way through typing.

Context frozen at the split

The child holds a snapshot of the conversation as it was, so the parent can race ahead without shifting the child's premise. Files and shared notes stay live — those you always want current.

Send the result home

When the side quest is done, the child summarizes its conclusion and posts it into the parent. You branch freely precisely because you can always come back.

A thread becomes a team

One menu item reads the thread and pre-fills an entire team: name, goal, task list, and which roles to hire. Every member starts with the same context. Nothing gets re-briefed.

Threads that grow long can be split into chapters, each carrying a running synopsis forward so the story survives the length. And parent and child run at the same time — a thread that's busy never blocks the others.

FAQ

Do I need API keys?
No. WorkPilot signs in through each vendor's official CLI, using the subscription you already have. Nothing is billed per token. (Antigravity is optional, and runs on a Gemini API free-tier key.)
Which subscriptions do I need?
At least one. Claude is the recommended primary engine. ChatGPT, Kimi and Antigravity can be added any time — unconnected engines simply fall back to a connected one instead of silently costing you money.
Which Macs are supported?
Apple Silicon (M1 and later). Windows is planned.
Where is my data stored?
In a normal folder on your Mac — Markdown, images, video. Delete the app and your work is still there. Knowledge can be exported in OKF, so nothing is locked in.
Can I use it with Obsidian or Claude Code?
Yes. Point WorkPilot at your Obsidian vault and it keeps its files in a WorkPilot folder inside it — knowledge documents, notes and your twin profile open straight in Obsidian, and Claude Code reads the same files. Obsidian doesn't even need to be running. Large uploads and logs stay outside the vault so it doesn't get heavy.
How does team sharing work without a server?
A Shared Space is a folder — on a NAS, Dropbox, Google Drive, anything you already use. Members join with a code. There's no WorkPilot account and no cloud contract, and your files never pass through us. Each member uses their own AI subscription.
Will it publish or deploy something on its own?
No. Anything that leaves your machine pauses for approval. Production deploys can be restricted to the team lead.
Can it keep a to-do list?
Yes. Select any sentence in a conversation and send it to Tasks.
What do you mean by loop engineering and graph engineering?
They are the two ideas WorkPilot is built on: designing work that repeats, and designing what gets remembered and handed over.
How do I manage servers and API connections?
One place. Servers (SSH), MCP tools, APIs and outgoing mail all live under Connections.
Can non-engineers use the code mode?
That's who it's for. You get a plan in plain language, choices as cards, a visible list of what changed, and one-click rollback.
